The battery passport for e-bikes and scooters.
LMT batteries are sealed, weigh up to 25 kg and power wheeled vehicles. The passport obligation applies from 18 February 2027, for every single unit.
Three points LMT suppliers should know.
Large volumes
E-bike batteries quickly add up to thousands of passports per batch. Manual work no longer scales.
Private labels count
Anyone selling batteries under their own name is generally treated as the manufacturer, even if production is in Asia.
Replaceability
Under Article 11, LMT batteries must be replaceable by independent professionals. Workshops need the matching information.
From model to label in a day.
All you need is your master data and a list of serial numbers.
- Import thousands of serial numbers in one step, with a preview
- Duplicates and faulty rows are reported before the import
- Labels in three sizes for sheet printing
- Public passport page in German, English and Chinese
Does this also apply to the battery in a finished e-bike?
Yes. The obligation attaches to the battery, even if it is sold installed in a vehicle. Check who in your supply chain first places it on the EU market.
What about batteries over 25 kg?
They do not count as LMT. Depending on the vehicle they are EV or industrial batteries, which also need a passport.
