One tool. Five very different battery worlds.

Whether home storage, e-bike battery or forklift battery: the obligation is the same, the challenges are not. Here is how Batterypass fits your business.

Your role

Who is actually responsible?

The economic operator placing the battery on the EU market is responsible for the information in the passport. Depending on the role, this means:

Manufacturer

You manufacture batteries or have them manufactured under your name – and place them on the market. The passport is your job.

Importer

You place batteries from a manufacturer in a third country on the EU market. You must ensure that a passport exists.

Distributor

You resell batteries. Check whether a passport exists. Under your own name, you become the manufacturer yourself.

Authorised representative

You act on behalf of a manufacturer outside the EU and take on defined tasks.

Simplified illustration, not legal advice. The definitions and obligations of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 are authoritative.
